Cabernet Elegance: Wedding Invitations
I really love it when the design package for a wedding is cohesive. Our bride Cassandra and her mother had definite ideas for the late summer wedding. Gloria of Events by Design coordinated the wedding and worked with the family every step of the way. The direction became warm colors. The color was cabernet, with the accent color of gold. I called the wedding Cabernet Elegance.
Cassandra and I met to design and order the invitations at the Events by Design Carmel wedding studio. In designing the look, Cassandra chose a cabernet paper for her Wedding Invitations that was enhanced with a gold filigree design. It was a square pocket invitation with the printed top card in ivory shimmer paper. As a wedding stationer in Carmel, Indiana, it was convenient for the family to work with me, and with color proofs everything turned out perfectly.
Tablecloths for the reception, sourced with Gene Fulmer and LGi Linens were gold lamour and gold lace and sequin overlays. We used cabernet chargers and gold napkins – some in gold napkin rings.
We then used the fonts, the paper, the whole invitation idea to support the look of the wedding day papers. The menu cards, designed by Events by Design, were a circle in cabernet with gold design and gold writing. The table numbers also coordinated. We ordered gold shimmer paper for the place cards and we even used the shape that we had used on the tab for the invitation for a gold sticker for the chocolate treat at each place setting.
The flowers I will save for another post – they were stunning.
