2015 Wedding Trends
Thinking about what resonated last year and what is going on this year I have some predictions for 2015.
Paper choice for more brides is now ivory. The pocket invitation still works but more people seem to like the layers and no pocket.
Pearlized paper still is perceived as a luxury product. Gold and Silver foil or matte foil is another addition seen on so many luxury invitations. At Events by Design we have several companies who produce awesome results.
The invitation in a box is also coming on strong and will be sought after this year. Some prefer the fabric covered box while others are very happy with a cardboard box in a color that works with the invitation suite. Both options have to be sent in a mailing box and the envelope icing is the perfect way to address box invitations.
The vintage look is still strong with pretty candelabra gracing tables, mixed in with small floral clutch bouquets. Our floral designer brims with ideas for wedding flowers that work.
Many brides are opting for tables other than round ones. They rent farmhouse tables, or use rental folding ones and cover them to the floor so that they have a rectangular long table.
Gold mixed with soft pastels will be all the rage. Brides love the look of glamour that provides. This works with gold vases and opulent bouquets, or gold candelabra, and pastel floral rings.
Mercury glass in gold and silver continues to be a strong design statement.
Floral garlands down the middle of the table or on the edge of a head table is becoming very popular.
More brides, grooms and parents are seeking competent, hard working professional planners to execute their plans for the wedding day. They realize the stress that is saved by having someone else in charge for the beautiful wedding that was meticulously planned.
Barn and outdoor venues are very strong and I do not see them going anywhere in the near future. Brides and grooms are willing to risk a change in plans in the hope of getting the natural beauty of the great outdoors. As planners, we make sure that there is a good backup location.
