Choosing Color

A really important aspect in the design of your wedding day is color. You have no doubt been making color decisions all your life, and your wedding day will be no exception.
So what determines the color for your wedding? I have participated in hundreds of design meetings with Brides and Moms and inevitably the question of color of the bridesmaid dress comes up. But is that the right choice of color for your linens, flowers and accessories? Perhaps it is and perhaps it isn’t.
For instance, Emily chose for her wedding Bridesmaid dresses in several different jewel tones. The girls had their pick. She decided on black tablecloths, black chivari chairs and flowers in the fall jewel tones that pulled the entire look together. Jamie and her Mom Paula chose a soft gold for linens, the bridesmaid dresses were black, and the flowers were all white. The result was stunning.
As a designer I have a good sense of color and pulling elements together. Our floral design director Gene does also. Between us we can come up with a cohesive plan to make the bride and groom the focal point, make the flowers sing and transform a space to sparkle.
After you discuss your ideas and the amount of money you are comfortable spending, it makes sense to listen to what your design team comes up with. We suggest flowers, linens, even favor boxes and menu cards to pull together a cohesive look. But it is still a give and take. The first idea may not work for you, but a good design team will listen and revise and make you happy with your final decision.
There is a huge difference between a person who does flowers and a designer. With Gene’s 30+ years of floral design and my 22 years of designing and planning, we have the experience to deliver what you are looking for – within your budget. We strive to make yours a joyful day filled with memories you will be proud to share.
