Hair and Makeup for your wedding
Wasn’t Kate Middleton gorgeous on her wedding day? It would seem as if the whole world was tuned in. She was radiant and poised, and no doubt knew she looked her best.
That is surely the way all brides want to feel on their wedding day. They want to look in the mirror and say, “is that really me?”. That can be achieved with some advance planning.
First things first. Schedule an appointment with your stylist well in advance of the day. Tell him what you are doing and he may suggest you bring your veil in. For our daughter’s wedding, Armando did just that. After he finished with her hair he made some suggestions for small adjustments to the veil and to the headpiece. Since he was a professional and did this all the time, we trusted that he knew what would look best. And – he was right.
Makeup is another critical trial and error. A natural look is desirable but makeup will give your face that pop that will photograph so well. Try to get this appointment well before the big day also.
I personally like the idea of going to the salon. To me it is part of the fun of the day and is relaxing. The salon will probably let you bring in some treats for the Bridal Party to munch on while all the beauty is taking place. If your wedding location is too far away from the salon, then ask them to come to you.
Don’t skip the beauty treatments on the day of your wedding. I recently had my hair and makeup done, much as you would on your wedding day, then went off with the photographer for a photo shoot. It was fun. I looked in the mirror and liked what I saw, and truly think I will treat myself to this more frequently.
So give yourself the Royal treatment. You will feel like you are the real Princess on your wedding day.
