Master Bridal Consultant
Master Bridal ConsultantTM Gloria Boyden! What a thrill it was for me to earn this designation a few years ago. I am the only Master Bridal ConsultantTM who lives in Carmel, Indiana, one of 3 in the greater Indianapolis market, one of 5 in the state, and one of only 59 in the world!
What does it mean? The process starts with experience and education. As a consultant with the Association of Bridal Consultants, the person earns points for each thing. Education is a very important component. A Bachelor or Master’s degree counts as well as the industry specific educational courses like the professional development program and various conferences and seminars.
Once a person qualifies with points (you need 100) you can apply to become a master. It is not a given that a person with enough points will become a Master Bridal ConsultantTM. The next step is to put together a portfolio of a recent wedding. It needs technical information like logs, planning, budget, contact information. It also needs the photographs so that judges can see what makes this particular event special.
Following acceptance of that binder, the candidate must do a presentation in front of a panel of other Master Bridal ConsultantsTM at the annual conference. The presentation is usually a power point of a recent wedding, then a period of time to answer questions of the panel. After all candidates are heard, the panel discusses the merits of each and decides if they are indeed a Master. The decision is final.
For a bride and her family, hiring a Master Bridal ConsultantTM gives them the peace of mind that this person is educated, has vast experience, and can deliver a beautiful wedding for her clients time after time. She is also committed to the Association’s Code of Ethics.
When you are hiring a wedding planner look for education, look for experience and look for credentials. A Master Bridal ConsultantTM gives you the best of the best.
